The Viqua IHS22-E4 Professional UV Water Treatment System comes equipped with a 5 micron sediment and carbon filter that filter out particles and contaminants even before the UV light treatment. By pre-filtering out these particles the UV chamber and quartz sleeve are better protected and will last longer. Following the carbon and sediment filters the UV treatment then goes to work reducing bacteria, e-coli, viruses and more that would otherwise make it past other filtration methods.
