The 602810-102 Lamp and Sleeve Kit by Viqua includes one lamp bulb, one quartz sleeve, and two o-rings for a complete set of materials for bulb installation in the Viqua D, D4/PLUS, D4-V, IHS12-D4, IHS22-D4 systems, and Trojan UV Max C, C4, C4-V systems. The advantage of a kit is the assurance that each individual part will work for your system while costing you less than purchasing each part separately. The lamp bulb (model number 602805) works to protect water from microbial contaminants such as viruses, bacteria, and protozoan cysts. The quartz sleeve (model number 602732) acts as protection for the lamp bulb allowing for safe-guarded operation. The advantage of ultraviolet sterilization lies in the exposure of UV light waves to the microorganisms. This exposure effectively deactivates their DNA causing them to be unable to reproduce.
